my home update...

Hi everyone! A few photos of my home for you....

I have of course stuck with a calm, mostly white palette, with hints of blush and pale grey. I have a ton of light in this place so it feels fresh and airy even on a dreary rainy day. I have an open concept living/dining/kitchen area so I went with a marble dining table and coffee table of the same design so that the eye doesn't stop at one particular thing, and has a nice flow. I am sooooo happy to live in this space and thought I'd share it with you...have a great day everyone!

boho iPhone case...

I am lovinggggg my iPhone 6+....when I first got it, I was freaked out...I wanted the bigger size yet I was afraid it was too big. After making sure I could take it back and exchange it for the iPhone 6, I bought it and was shocked to find I was completely happy with the size. I do soooo much on my phone and really can't even imagine going down a size now! So after I decided I was going to keep it, I figured I wanted a pretty phone case and fell in love with the Floral Lace cover from  Rifle Paper and Co. I love its clear background with pretty little white flowers...

amore airstream...

My love for small spaces had me stopping in my tracks when I saw this to die for airstream on Anthropologie's instagram account this morning. It is right up my alley as I love an airstream and it is my dream to remodel one. Created by Sarah Schneider along with Anthropologie, it has me day-dreaming once again...

blue velvet cake recipe!

Have you seen this recipe for BLUE VELVET CAKE floating all over Pinterest lately!? OMG, I cannot wait to try it, definitely trying it this weekend!!


Ingredients
  • ½ cup Crisco
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ounce royal blue gel paste food color
  • 2 drops violet gel paste food color
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 scant teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease and flour 3 8-inch round cake pans.
  3. Cream together Crisco, sugar and eggs.
  4. Make a paste of food coloring and cocoa and add to mixture.
  5. Add salt and flour with buttermilk and vanilla.
  6. Alternately add soda and vinegar; just blend, don’t beat hard.
  7. Bake 25 minutes.
  8. Cool cake thoroughly before frosting.
